About Us
Honesty You Deserve. Experience You Can Trust. Results You Want.
At Addair Entsminger PLLC, we believe that every worker deserves a fair shake. When large corporations or government entities violate the law, regular citizens are often left feeling powerless. Our mission is to level that playing field. We are a premier, employee-focused litigation firm built on a bedrock of honesty, tenacity, and deep courtroom experience.
What truly sets our firm apart is our background. We spent decades working inside the large defense firms that corporations hire to protect their interests. We know exactly how major employers evaluate claims, structure their defense strategies, and try to minimize payouts.
Today, we take that insider playbook and weaponize it exclusively for working West Virginians. We do not represent corporate employers; we are entirely dedicated to fighting for individuals who have faced unlawful treatment, harassment, or severe personal injury.
The Addair Entsminger PLLC Advantage
We choose to keep our firm focused and responsive. When you trust us with your case, you do not get passed off to a junior associate or a paralegal. You get direct, personal communication with Mike and Kurt, two veteran trial attorneys who understand the emotional and financial toll of a legal battle.
We represent clients in Charleston, throughout West Virginia, and statewide. Because we handle our cases on a contingency fee basis, we assume all the financial risk. We do not get paid unless we successfully recover money for you.

The Highest Level of Professional Excellence
Kurt has been honored with the prestigious AV Preeminent® rating by Martindale-Hubbell®. This is the highest possible peer-review rating an attorney can achieve. It is earned solely through confidential evaluations from other lawyers and judges who have firsthand witnessed his legal ability and ethical standards.
When a firm possesses an AV Preeminent designation, it signals to opposing counsel and insurers that they are dealing with an advocate of the highest caliber.
Meet Our Team
Attorney Michael Addair
Mike Addair’s fierce advocacy is rooted in his blue-collar upbringing. Raised in Bartley, a rural, close-knit community in Southern West Virginia, Mike grew up in a family of coal miners, construction workers, and service-industry professionals.
This background instilled in him a deep respect for hard-working people and a firsthand understanding of how vulnerable individuals can be when facing powerful entities.
After graduating from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2007, where he served as Executive Notes Editor for the West Virginia Law Review, Mike spent nearly a decade working inside prominent corporate defense firms.
Armed with an insider's understanding of corporate defense tactics, he returned to his roots to fight exclusively for individuals. After successfully managing his own solo practice, Mike partnered with Kurt to establish a firm centered on aggressive advocacy. He is a relentless litigator who refuses to back down from sophisticated corporate legal teams.
Attorney Kurt Entsminger
With more than 46 years of experience as an attorney, Kurt is a seasoned litigator who has handled thousands of legal matters and tried over 50 civil cases to completion. Kurt graduated first in his law class at West Virginia University in 1980 and immediately began building a diverse, high-stakes litigation background.
His distinguished career includes serving as an Assistant United States Attorney and Chief of the Civil Division for the Southern District of West Virginia, where he earned two special achievement awards from the U.S. Attorney General.
Kurt also served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Huntington Human Relations Commission, hearing and deciding complex discrimination claims. Notably, Kurt successfully represented a nurse in a landmark whistleblower retaliation case that yielded a $1.6 million jury verdict and paved the way for the enactment of the West Virginia Patient Safety Act.
